Healthcare technology startup BioStack has raised $9.5 million in a seed funding round led by Peak XV, with participation from Afore Capital, DCVC, Emerson Collective, SV Angel, Verdict Capital, Streamlined Ventures and Y Combinator.

Announced on October 26, 2026, the funding will support the company’s international expansion, technology development and recruitment across its engineering and research teams.

BioStack is building data infrastructure that connects fragmented clinical information across healthcare providers, enabling clinicians, researchers and artificial intelligence developers to access more comprehensive patient histories.

Connecting Fragmented Healthcare Data

Healthcare information is often distributed across multiple systems, including electronic health records, laboratory reports, medical imaging, prescriptions, treatment histories and patient outcomes. This fragmentation can make it difficult to understand a patient's complete medical journey.

BioStack develops workflows that bring these different sources together into more connected clinical records. Its approach aims to help healthcare providers gain better visibility into patient histories while supporting research into diseases, treatment responses and medical outcomes.

The company is launching a data infrastructure network across the United States, India, Brazil and Argentina, with access to more than 100 million de-identified patient records, according to its announcement.

Building Data Infrastructure for Medical AI

BioStack also creates proprietary datasets from de-identified clinical information collected through healthcare provider systems. These datasets connect clinical and biological information with treatment histories and longer-term outcomes.

Such data can help researchers investigate disease progression and evaluate how different treatments affect patients over time. For AI developers, combining medical records with imaging and other clinical information can support the development and evaluation of models designed for healthcare applications.

The startup has already combined hundreds of thousands of fragmented X-rays, MRI scans and CT scans, alongside millions of telehealth audio transcripts and other clinical records, according to the company.

What the Funding Means for Healthcare Technology

The investment reflects growing interest in the infrastructure required to make healthcare AI more useful in real-world settings. While advanced models attract attention, their effectiveness also depends on access to relevant, reliable and well-organised data.

BioStack plans to use the new capital to strengthen its platform, expand internationally and grow its engineering and research capabilities.

However, handling medical information also requires careful attention to privacy, data governance, security and the quality of clinical records. De-identification is an important safeguard, but responsible data management remains essential as healthcare AI applications expand.

The Road Ahead

BioStack’s funding round highlights an emerging opportunity in healthtech: building the data foundations that connect healthcare delivery with medical research and AI development.

As healthcare organisations explore AI-driven applications, platforms that can organise fragmented clinical information may play an increasingly important role in enabling research, improving analytical capabilities and supporting the next generation of medical technology.
